Schnitzer: 'Report cards' will boost environmental gains

Portland-based Schnitzer Steel Industries Inc. issued a sustainability report card it says will serve as a baseline for reporting on its environmental and social initiatives in coming years. Schnitzer said its metals recycling, car salvage and other operations produced the equivalent of more than 221,000 million tons of carbon dioxide.
