Prices of DRAM expected to stabilize, NAND to fall

2013-03-08 00:43:36| InfoWorld: Top News

After multiple years of double-digit drops, prices for DRAM could stabilize as demand exceeds supply and the number of memory makers dwindles, a research analyst for IC Insights said this week. The average selling price for DRAM in January jumped by about 13 percent compared to January 2012. That's a sign that prices could stabilize or even increase over this year after incessant price drops over the last few years, said Brian Matas, vice president for market research at IC Insights.

EcoWatch: In a roll call vote of 95-40, the New York State Assembly has passed a two-year moratorium on hydraulic fracturing or fracking, the toxic horizontal drilling process through which oil and gas is procured that`s found within shale rock basins across the country and the world. The bill, if passed by the Senate and signed off by Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo, would close the state`s doors to the oil and gas industry`s desire to begin operating in New York`s portion of the Marcellus Shale basin until...
