U.S. passenger airlines reported a net profit of $7.5 billion in 2014, with two Texas-based carriers leading the way. The airline that now operates as Fort Worth-based American Airlines reported a net profit of $2.79 billion, and Dallas-based Southwest Airlines profit comprises $1.48 billion for US Airways and $1.31 billion for American.
