United Airlines could outsource up to 2,000 airport jobs

United Airlines is considering cutting up to 2,000 jobs at 28 airports around the country - including Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport - and hiring a contractor to do the work. The airline needs to make sure its costs are competitive, and so it is considering outsourcing jobs of some bag handlers and customer-service agents, United spokesman Luke Punzenberger said.

Frontier Airlines outsourcing Denver work, 1,300 employees impacted

Frontier Airlines says it is outsourcing some of its functions at Denver International Airport , and many of its DIA workers will be interviewing for jobs with "business partners." The Denver-based airline is cutting 1,160 workers in Denver, but "the vast majority are airport [operations] employees that we hope will continue to be part of our team through our business partner relationships," said Frontier spokesman Todd Lehmacher .
