NEMA welcomed passage of HR 527, Responsible Helium Administration and Stewardship Act, by vote of 394–1 in House of Representatives. Legislation will reauthorize and improve operations of Federal Helium Reserve in Texas. Under current law, Reserve, holding approximately 30% of global helium supply, would cease operations as early as fall; U.S. users of helium acquire much of it from refining companies associated with Reserve.
