New viscose fibre made from recycled cotton textiles

Chinese viscose producer Tangshan Sanyou has managed to produce viscose staple fibre from 50% post-consumer recycled cotton textiles on an industrial scale, in a move that helps move the industry away from harvesting virgin forests, cotton fields or oil wells as the source of its raw materials.

Virgin Media trials delivery of fibre broadband using wireless radio

(Telecompaper) Virgin Media is testing the use of wireless signals to deliver fibre broadband and TV services to homes in the village of Greenham, near the UK town of Newbury. Virgin expects to start further trials of this technology later in 2019.
