SK, Samsung successfully test 5G in 28 GHz band

(Telecompaper) SK Telecom announced that it has verified the performance of a 5G system in the 28 GHz band, in cooperation with Samsung. Tested in a network and outdoor environments, the Korean operator said this is one of the first cases of confirming the use of millimeter wave technology and will support further development of the services. SK announced last year that it was building a mmWave system with Samsung at its test bed in Bundang. The results of the tests will contribute to building a pilot 5G network for testing later this year.

Unit is also programmable for fixed attenuation or swept attenuation ramps directly from included graphical user interface (GUI) software. While programmable for ATE applications, attenuator can also be used in WiMAX, 3G, 4G, LTE, DVB Fading Simulators, as well as engineering and production test labs.

When the design for a 10 GHz ham radio station was discussed within the amateur radio community, a key missing block was a reliable low-noise amplifier (LNA). This application note describes how a 10 GHz LNA was custom made with the use of NI AWR Design Environment™ circuit design software.
