U.S. auto recalls top 60 million as response to defects shift

GM alone has recalled almost 27 million cars and trucks in the U.S. this year -- a record for any single automaker. WASHINGTON/DETROIT -- U.S. automobile recalls surpassed the 60 million mark for the first time in a single year, largely because of the rush to prevent more deaths from defective General Motors ignition switches and Takata Corp. airbags.

CMOS camera chip captures tiny defects and transports images to integrated 3.5 in. digital LCD monitor with 720 x 640 resolution. Interchangeable probes, ranging from 4–10 mm in diameter, can be used with optional mirrors for inspection at 70, 90, or 110° angles. All data can be saved to included 4 GB SD memory card.

Oil train rail inspection finds 'critical' defects on North Country track
