Space Logistics Engineer

We are looking for a Space Logistics Engineer to join our Engineering and Innovation Team and support the preparation of proposals and the execution of projects in the space field. SPECIFIC TASKS Participate to systems engineering activities for what concerns the design the ILS concept of space systems, including ground and space assets. Collect and process feedbacks from onfield activities to derive lessons learnt on maintenance and operations. Participate to systems design for what concerns the aspects related to ILS, in particular Reliability, availability, continuity, integrity, and failures analysis. Systems operability. Maintenance concept and LSA analyses LORA, LCC, MTA Spare parts and warehouse management analysis. Packaging, Handling, Storage Transportation PHST. Inventory and configuration management. Interact with domain experts to model and abstract systems behaviours with respect to performances to be delivered. Define the guidelines for ILS, OPS and Maintenance documentation data packages. Assess the use of innovative technologies and tradeoff different solutions to improve the performances, the operability, and the cost of ILS concepts implementation. Participate to proposal preparations by performing preliminary technical analysis, write technical proposals and support financial, management and contractual assessments. Support company technology innovation choices in the field of ILS and operations. Support ongoing projects in the field of ILS execution. Support the evolution of existing products in the ILS domain. REQUIREMENTS A Masters Degree in Systems or Electrical Engineering or any equivalent degree. At least 4 years of experience in the ILS domain, in the analysis, design or execution of systems maintenance and operations. Background in systems engineering, ability to understand and critically assess systems requirements and architecture. Knowledge of MBSE is an asset. Ability to use systems analysis tools. Familiarity with space systems, previous experience is an asset. Interest in new technologies applied to ILS, Working level knowledge of English. ISSColumbus Operations Logistics Engineer mf The Mission The Columbus laboratory, launched in 2008, is ESAs biggest single contribution to the International Space Station ISS. The 4.5metre diameter cylindrical module is equipped with flexible research facilities that offer extensive science capabilities. During its projected lifespan, Earthbased researchers, together with the ISS crew, will conduct experiments in life sciences, materials science, fluid physics and a whole host of other disciplines, all in weightlessness. Under contract from ESA, the Columbus Control Centre ColCC, located at the German Aerospace Center DLR facility in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, works closely with the other ISS control centres including Houston and Moscow. ColCC is responsible for all Columbus systems and for European science activities on board the ISS. The Challenge We are looking for an experienced logistics engineer to directly support the Head of the Columbus and Payloads Engineering. Located at ESTEC in The Netherlands, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of inventory management, logistics documentation and database management, as well as ground processing support to the European logistics tasks for the International Space Station ISS. Specific responsibilities of the position include 1.
