For our activities in EUMETSAT, we are currently looking for a Java EE Development and Oracle Administration Engineer to support the Enterprise Data and Application Team EDA of the Information and Communication Technology Support ICT section. The responsibilities of the Enterprise Data and Application team start with the collection and analysis of requirements for new multitier applications, Website and Intranet in close collaboration with internal customers and external suppliers. The responsibilities continue with the specification and design of the solution, the selection of the software platform and related technologies, the implementation and test of the services and applications, and finally the maintenance of the system and application together with the other existing services. Tasks The key person is expected to support mainly two key tasks. It is foreseen, that the detailed key tasks will include as a minimum 1. Java EE Application Development Designing, implementing, maintaining, testing and delivering applications for all services based on Java, Java EE, Oracle Database and Oracle Web Center Content Management System following the full application development and maintenance cycle 2. Oracle Administration Installing, configuring, monitoring, clustering, optimising and administering Oracle Web Center Content WCC and Site Studio for External Applications SSXA Servers as well as Oracle Application Servers WebLogic Glassfish used by web applications, Website and Intranet. Furthermore the key person is expected to support the following tasks, but to a much lesser extent than the key tasks. It is foreseen, that the detailed tasks will include as a minimum Oracle Database Administration o Coordinating lowlevel Oracle DBA tasks with external DBA support company which is taking care of tasks like installing, upgrading, patching, clustering, monitoring and backing up of databases o Administering, optimising and configuring Oracle Databases highlevel DBA tasks o Supporting Oracle Database design schema generation, analysis, data migration and report generation o Implementing and maintaining scripts andor procedures where applicable for the automated andor controlled execution of the above activities o Very exceptional, install and setup Oracle Databases. COTS Application Maintenance o Specifying, customizing, integrating and maintaining clientserver based COTS systems and documenting the customisation and integration in the EUMETSAT environment e.g. Book Library System, Org Chart System, Image Library System. PHP Application Maintenance o Maintaining, testing and delivering PHP based applications. General Tasks o Providing second level support for existing applications, systems and services o Gathering and documenting user and system requirements and constraints o Documenting the tasks and deliverables according to EUMETSAT working practices o Performing the related quality assurance, configuration and change management activities o Contributing to project planning and reporting. Qualifications and Requirements Essential In addition to having a university degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent, the consultant shall have as a prerequisite For Java EE Development o At least 3 years professional experience in the design, implementation, integration and testing of Website and Intranet applications using Java EE and Oracle databases o At least 3 years professional experience in developing with JSFFacelets, JSP, Servlets o At least 2 years professional experience in developing with JPA Hibernate, TopLink o Knowledge of XHTML, CSS, Ajax, JavaScript, XML, XSTL o Knowledge of Oracle SQL. For Oracle Administration o At least 3 years professional experience in Oracle WebCenter Content 11g installation, configuration, administration and operation o At least 3 years professional experience in Weblogic 11g and Glassfish installation, configuration, administration, clustering and operation o Experience in integrating applications in Oracle WebCenter Content 11g. For General Tasks o Knowledge of Windows o Proven experience in formal documentation, preferably in a ISO 9000 certified project and service environment o High degree of autonomy, good personal communication skills oral and writing and strong customeroriented approach to interact with EUMETSAT personnel. Desirable In addition to the above requirements, experience knowledge in the following areas shall be considered a distinct advantage For Oracle Database Administration o Professional experience in Oracle 11g database administration o Knowledge of Oracle PLSQL. For COTS Application Maintenance o Professional experience in integrating and customising COTS systems. For PHP Application Maintenance o Experience in maintaining PHP applications. For General Tasks o Experience in integrating systems with Web ServicesSOAP, LDAPAD o Experience with reporting tools e.g. Jasper Reports, Crystal Reports, SAP BI o Knowledge of IIS o Knowledge of UML and Design Patterns o Knowledge of ITIL, in particular with respect to change and configuration management fundamentals and principles.
