This is a permanent position, calling for an Engineering Consultant with a university degree and a background of at least 5 years in space systems with a focus on ground segment as well as at least 3 years in project Quality Assurance roles. You will be placed on assignment based near Frankfurt in Germany for several years. Candidates should ideally be available to start in Q1 2016. Our client is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. Vast quantities of data are produced and user communities throughout the world are able to access both current and historical data sets. The demanding realtime environment places much emphasis on adherence to quality and configuration management standards and procedures. The consultant will be integrated into the space ground segment team to perform QA activities related to the ground segment. The following attributes are essential for this position sound handson experience in QA processes definition, implementation, monitoring and control sound handson experience in risks management and lessons learned processes sound experience in a rational application of international quality standards good knowledge of ECSS standards sound handson experience in managing, reporting and followingup of procured items knowledge of project management and project planning, including the ability to identify and report on critical paths some knowledge of requirements management tools, e.g. DOORS ability to draft management reports and executive summaries in English sound handson experience of working on collaborative programmes between different partners very good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Access good interpersonal skills, including mediation skills very good attitude to team working. The main working language is English and candidates must be fluent in both reading and writing but knowledge of French also would be advantageous. Project management support EPSSG Ground Segment 1513087 Job Description We are looking for project management support in the development of the ground segment of the EUMETSAT Polar System Second Generation EPSSG satellite system for our client EUMETSAT. You will be part of the EPSSG Ground Segment Team in the Low Earth Orbit Division LEO at EUMETSAT and be involved in supporting the EPSSG Ground Segment development activities.
