RHEA is currently recruiting a Ground Segment System and Interfaces Engineer to support the longterm maintenance and upgrades of all groundbased computer installation at our clients premises in Darmstadt, Gremany. Tasks and Activities Your primary tasks and activities may include Contributing to the overall system design documentation of operational systems Ensuring the maintenance of Interface Control Documents ICD for all operational systems by upholding responsibility of ensuring that ICDs are kept uptodate Analysing system evolutions and verifying the system and interfaces coherence In addition, it is envisaged that the scope of the candidates work will be primarily split between two business areas. In the role of support to the maintenance activities of the clients operational programmes, the candidates task will include Coordinating the maintenance, for all operational ground system, of a complete Performing technical analysis of system architecture and specification evolutions or major upgrades of the operational ground systems, for interfaces coherence and compatibility checking with other ongoing developments Defining the interface testing approach for major evolutions of the operational ground systems and contributing to the coordination of the installation, integration and verification of new systems into the Operational infrastructure Contributing to the various OPS Projects and associated reviews, as required, providing Interfaces Engineering support during the design phase and contributing actively to the definition of the IVV activities Performing analysis, investigations and resolution of system level anomalies Supporting the MED System Engineer on all related activities as requested Attending the OPS regular coordination meetings, including CRBs and ARBs, as requested. In the role of support to the development of nee GEO and LEO programmes, the candidates tasks will include Participating in the definition of the system architecture and interfaces between the multimission elements and the programme specific elements of the ground system In coordination with the system and interface engineers of the future ground segment, ensuring that the definition and documentation of new interfaces are compatible with the methodology used in Operations this includes the use of common templates for Interface Control Document and the use of the same tool for maintaining the interfaces data dictionary Providing support to the definition of the IVV approach for the future ground systems Promoting the implementation of the OPS working practices regarding system maintainability and evolutions Skills and Experience You must possess the following skills and experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant field A minimum of 5 years demonstrated professional experience in the following areas Development and maintenance of complex operational ground systems, preferable for remote sensing spacecrafts System and Interfaces Engineering AIT experience for the development of major upgrades new ground systems in a 247 operational environment Proven professional experience in the following areas Satellite monitoring and control systems and nearreal time data processing, dissemination and archive systems Full development cycle of large systems, from the definition requirements to system design and testing System architectural design more specifically experience in the use of modelling and design tools such as Enterprise Architect Definition, management and traceability of complex requirements structure and supporting tools e.g. DOORS Software engineering Configuration Control processes and tools Familiarity with ECSS standards Demonstrated ability to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner to work calmly and correctly under stress and with little supervision Excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive attitude with strong ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment Excellent communications skills and a fluency in English How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level? Tasks and Activities In the role of support to the development of MTG ground segment, your primary tasks and activities shall include Analysis of the MTG requirements on the MultiMission Elements and contributing to the definition of the design specification for the MultiMission Elements Definition of the system architecture and interfaces between the MultiMission Elements and the other elements of the MTG ground segment Performing engineering budgets and analysing impacts of changes in the MultiMission Elements on the MTG ground segment architecture and interfaces and on the operations and maintenance of existing operational ground segments Contributing to the generation of System Design Documents and Interface Control Documents Providing support to the definition of the AIV approach for the MultiMission Elements, including the generation of Test Plan and Test Procedures Participating to MTG projects reviews PDR, CDR, etc... Promoting and ensuring the implementation of the maintainability requirements and standards defined by OPS for the future programmes. In the role of support to the maintenance activities of the operational programmes, the tasks and activities shall include Maintenance, for all the operational ground systems, of a complete and consistent set of system level design documentation, also in relation with the other teams within MED Performing technical analysis of system architecture and specification for evolutions or major upgrades of the operational ground systems, in order to ensure coherence and compatibility with other ongoing developments Coordination of resolution of system technical issues across the different teams, accomplishing synergisticreference architectures technologies, by dynamically supporting the different System designs Definition of the system testing approach for major evolutions of the operational ground systems and contribution to the coordination of the installation, integration and verification of new systems into the Operational infrastructure In support to the MED System Authority Group, performing the review of Engineering Change Proposals ECPs and configuration change requests, in preparation for the weekly ECP Review Board and daily CRB meetings. Skills and Experience In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, you shall have at least five years experience in the following areas Full development cycle of systems, from the definition of requirements to system design and testing Maintenance of operational ground systems, preferably for remote sensing spacecrafts System Engineering AIT experience for the development of major upgrades new ground systems in a 247 operational environment. In addition, for the accomplishment of the listed tasks, proven knowledge and experience in at least two of the following missions ground segment areas are mandatory Nearrealtime data processing Archive systems Nearreal time data dissemination. The following skills would be highly desirable. Ground Segment Monitoring and Control systems Ground Stations System architectural design with the support of modelling and design tools e.g. Enterprise Architect Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools e.g. DOORS Configuration Control processes and tools Familiarity with the ECSS standards.
