Employment Type Full Time 24 X 7 Rotating Shifts. Oncall availability. Required Experience Minimum 2 Years Required Education College or technical school Reporting To O3b NOC Operations Manager Working Location Manassas, VA Role Description The NOC Controller monitors and controls O3b Network Operations on a 247 basis, 365 days per year, to provide courteous and expedient first level customer support and to respond to alarms in the O3b network of Gateways, managed services and customer equipment. O3b will employ, create and consistently improve on a variety of industry standard, as well as homegrown, network monitoring and control tools. Responsibilities Initiate, review, update and resolve trouble tickets clearly and concisely. Diagnose and escalate confirmed faults to Level 23 Engineering and Management. Perform assigned routine tasks completely and timely. Perform periodic transponder usage audits. Initiate interference investigations when interference is monitored or reported on the spacecraft. Be available for oncall duty as assigned. Maintain clear and concise activity log. Proactively monitor network and system performance. Analyze traffic data and trends and escalate areas of concern to the network design authority. Requirements Two years or more of college or technical school plus applicable experience considered. CCNP or equivalent certifications desirable. One to three years work experience desirable. Must be able to work in a 7X24 rotating shift environment and be capable of making independent decisions and judgments under stressful conditions. Must demonstrate a high level of understanding of PC applications, computers and networking. The ability to convey complex technical issues equally to customers who are technical and nontechnical individuals. Experienced with the use of trouble reporting and logging systems. Good knowledge of enterpriseclass IP infrastructure routersswitchesfirewalls. Knowledge of TCIP fundamentals including, but not limited to protocols, architecture, acronyms, interfaces and QoS Fundamental understanding of communications satellites and the use of satellites in telecommunications networks. Prior SatelliteRF work experiences a plus. Foreign language a plus. Other Key RequirementsComments Satellite spectrum monitoring, fault finding and resolution Staying uptodated about the new trends in computer technology. Developing fresh software for the company. Liable to enhancing the productivity of the business. Networking computer systems with other systems. Testing and debugging errors in the computer systems.
