Samsung reports small increase in Q2 results

(Telecompaper) Samsung Electronics forecast an increase in second-quarter results. In a preliminary report, the Korean company said sales are expected at around KRW 50 trillion, compared to KRW 48.5 trillion a year ago, and operating profit should increase to KRW 8.1 trillion from KRW 6.9 trillion in Q2 2015. The company is expected to have benefited from solid sales of the Galaxy S7, the latest in its flagship range of smartphones, which was released in March. Samsung's final results will be released later this month.
