Description of the job Are you a passionate CATIA designer who has commercial Design Office Drawing Office experience? Are you looking to work on interesting on detailed designs? As an Experienced Design Engineer you will focus on the development of innovative design solutions answering complex challenges in a multifunctional context. You will be joining a Project team of up to 5 people who are part of dept of 70 and MDO Group of 20. We are looking for someone with CATIA experience and we are happy to train you from CATIA CATIA V5 to CATIA V6. Tasks accountabilities Main tasks and responsibilities for this role are Responsible for maintaining a high degree of CAD competence in spacecraft design accommodation including Detailed Design within an engineering group or Project team environment. Providing good engineering design support on bids, studies project work. Liaising with internal external customers in the product groups business units. Liaising with stress, thermal mechanical subsystem groups having a good appreciation of their work. Carrying out DMU design accommodation activities given a detailed toplevel requirement specification with little or no guidance. Responsible for the creation, control, correctness accuracy of all drawings, models, Digital Mock UP DMU, bills of materials engineering change notes as related to the configured items for allocated projects to cost schedule. Ensuring all outputs from the Mechanical Design Office MDO is correct to the project requirements as stated by the core team generally the Mechanical ArchitectResponsible Engineer. All the project DO outputs must be checked, signed stamped by the MDO lead design engineer to the checklists CATIA procedures. Administering the release of drawings, BOMs ECOs related to the allocated project. This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Companys success, reputation and sustainable growth. Required skills Strong and indepth CATIA experience, we are happy to travel to V6 level Commercial experience in designing structure components and assemblies that are optimized in terms of weight, cost, performance, production assembly requirements while highest safety of the Product is assured using appropriate design tools. Inside of the GalileoProject we offer the following career option Constellation Shift Lead Your Mission One of the main tasks of the DLR GfR mbH is to operate and manage the constellation of Galileo satellites from the Galileo Control Center in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. For the performance of tasks within the Galileo shift operations team we are looking for a Constellation Shift Lead. Tasks and Responsibilities Operate on a 247 shift basis all part of the mission control system, which includes parts of the ground and mission segment as well as the space segment Assist in configuring and testing the operational system to support the operations. The successful candidate may be required to support development of methods or tools to assist in the execution of the operations Onconsole involvement in System Validation Tests SVT, simulations and Launch and Early Orbits Phase LEOP operations authorised by the Spacecraft Operations Manager, following established rules, procedures and practices, and where applicable in accordance with the ECSS standards In case of ground or space segment anomaly be responsible for first line support to taking corrective action, as necessary, applying the relevant contingencyemergency procedures approved for the mission to ensure safety of the spacecraft and the continuity of service provision Be responsible for informing the Spacecraft Operations Manager andor the official deputy when a major or critical anomaly is detected, in accordance with the established procedures Participate to other operationsrelated activities small system development, procedures development or maintenance, etc upon request from the Team Leader Support of the control center in Fucino, Italy Additional tasks within the scope of the role, qualifications and experience of the candidate. Necessary Skills Applicants should have a solid technical background and preferably a degree at BSc or MSc level in a related subject such as IT, Telecommunications, Physics or another scientific discipline, etc. The successful candidate will have ideally 4 or more years of experience in an Operations environment preferably with experience working directly with spacecraftsatellites. Experience working with computer systems and PC literacy is required. Knowledge of databases i.e. Oracle, MySQL, Access and Java XML would be considered as advantageous. Candidates should be methodical, disciplined and have a mind for efficiency as the appointed person should feel comfortable in a strictly proceduredriven critical operations environment where procedures must be carried out to the letter. Due to the operational nature of the job, candidates shall be able to work in a calm and correct manner under conditions of stress and in almost full autonomy e.g. during night shifts. As the successful candidate will be part of an Operation Team working on a 247 shift rotation pattern, team spirit and teamplayer attitude are also essential to be able to adapt to the sometimes unavoidable shortterm changes to the shift plan resulting from sickness or other exceptional circumstance, with the purpose of avoiding any service disruption and ensuring the satellite health and safety above all.
