(Telecompaper) Samsung has agreed to settle for USD 548 million a 2011 smartphone patent suit in which Apple claimed USD 2.5 billion in damages, according to a joint statement filed to the US District Court for the Northern District of California. The New York Times writes that Apple won the case in 2012, but was awarded only around USD 1 billion. In making the payment, Samsung is complying with a partial judgement handed down in September in Apple's favour.
Apple Issues Lead Barclays To Downgrade Analog Devies

Analog Devices, Inc. shares have climbed 7 percent in the last three months, even after hitting a low of $53.47 on September 28. Barclays' Blayne Curtis downgraded the rating on the company from Overweight to Equal-Weight, while reducing the price target from $70 to $60. An inventory correction could take place in the near term, since the company's shipments to Apple Inc. have been much higher than expectations, Curtis said.
