THE Sugar Industry Authority (SIA) is to be reinstated as Jamaica's sole importer of refined sugar, starting at the beginning of the new crop year in December. This was announced yesterday by Agriculture, Labour and Social Security Minister Derrick Kellier when he addressed cane farmers at the All-Island Jamaica Cane Farmers' Association 74th Annual General Meeting at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston.
