Job Description Highly competitive salary Corporate Benefits Package Relocation Assistance if applicable Further information available from the Serco Europe Recruitment Team Main Responsibilities The successful candidate should concentrate hisher activities on the following tasks design of robust, highly available and secure computer architectures including relevant documentation e.g. System Design Document installation and configuration of operating system and other software, tuning of operating systems parameters to optimise performance analysis, planning and performance of HW and SW upgrades or reconfiguration, taking care of compatibility issues between subsystems monitoring of the system performance, investigation into HW and system SW problems and performance of the relevant corrective actions track and address technical vulnerabilities impacting the systems address anomalies in an end to end manner identify, raise anomaly, investigate, implementcoordinate remediation, track status, close and report liaison with the external providers of HW and system SW maintenance for the request and follow up of maintenance interventions support to SW development and maintenance in relation to the utilisation of system resources support to Integration, Verification and Validation IVV activities operations of the systems in line with agreed SLAs implementationmaintenance of scriptsprocedures to automate above activities reports on status of activities provision of oncall support provision of support, as required, to critical operations. As an essential part of the tasks above, the Contractor is expected to generate and maintain documentation. This may comprise writing and reviewing requirement and design specifications, change proposals, security guidelines, preparing documents supporting the procurement process, reviewing data packages belonging to technical inspections and reviews, writing and reviewing IT architecture and design, writing design evaluation reports, writingreviewing reports, test reports and overall status reports. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate should bring the following skills and experience at least 5 years of experience in IT System Administration expert knowledge and significant work experience of Linux operating systems RedHat and SLES as well as good command of Microsoft Windows expert knowledge and experience in VMware vSphere virtualisation provision of IT services according to ITIL best practices Expertise and experience in IT Architecture and Design high and lowlevel good knowledge and experience in security principlesconcepts, secure architectureprotocols, implementation of security controls, tools, etc. expert knowledge and experience in HighAvailability and Clustering solutions at OS and application level good troubleshooting skills incl. root cause analysis In addition to having a university degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in IT System Administration combined with proven skills. The experience shall have been acquired in an operational or production environment, driven by high availability requirements.
