BENNINGTON >> One of the two people accused of robbing Bennington Cinemas at gunpoint in June has appeared in court, pleading not guilty to half a dozen felonies and continuing to be held without bail. Star M. Crandall, 23, of South Burlington, pleaded not guilty in Vermont Superior Court to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, grand larceny, two counts of kidnapping, assault and robbery with a deadly weapon, and burglary.

North Bennington community comes together to build hay wagon

NORTH BENNINGTON >> Members of the North Bennington Highway Department, community members, and local businesses came together to build a hay wagon, which the village will use during its upcoming Winter Festival, as well as at community events in the future. "Pretty much everybody I went to was willing to put something into this," said highway superintendent Norm LeBlanc, who said that all of the parts and labor were donated.
