(Telecompaper) Xiaomi is in talks to raise USD 1.5 billion in new funding, the Financial Times reported, saying the capital would put the company's valuation at over USD 40 billion. The company is in talks with a number of investors including Russia's DST, but negotiations have not yet been finalised, sources familiar with the matter said. Xiaomi declined to comment on its fundraising plans.

Komen for the Cure and more than $213,000 to Kroger's "Sharing Courage" campaign, for a total of $674,000 - surpassing the Division's $450,000 goal by more than $224,000. The multi-faceted campaign ran from Oct. 5 - Nov. 1, and gave customers the opportunity to purchase pink paper ribbons for $1 at Kroger checkout.

The Thunderbirds , hosts of the 2014 Waste Phoenix Open , will distribute over $7 million to local charities, Thunderbirds Big Chief Tom King announced Oct. 27. The money comes from proceeds raised from the 2014 tournament. It marks the first time since 2008 that the Thunderbirds have raised more than $7 million from the tournament and the third highest charitable donation in a single year in tournament history, according to the Thunderbirds.
