Telefonica to sell 11 data centres to Asterion for EUR 550 mln

(Telecompaper) Telefonica has reached an agreement to sell 11 of its data centres to investment fund Asterion for a total of EUR 550 million, confirming recent reports. The transaction covers 11 data centres with an installed service capacity of 29 MW located in Argentina (2), Brazil (2), Chile (1), Spain (2), Mexico (1), Peru (2) and the US (1) and also includes the signing of a long-term housing services agreement to the Telefonica Group, allowing the company to maintain its commercial offer. The operation does not include the sale of servers owned by Telefonica, or the management and access to customers hosted on them.
Iliad in talks to sell mobile towers in Spain and Italy to Cellnex for EUR 2 bln

(Telecompaper) France's Iliad has announced exclusive negotiations with Spanish infrastructure operator Cellnex Telecom for the sale of 70 percent of the company managing its mobile telecom infrastructure in France and 100 percent of the company managing its passive mobile towers infrastructure in Italy. The agreement encompasses 5,700 sites in France plus 2,200 sites in Italy and is worth an initial EUR 2 billion, said Iliad, adding that the transaction would help to strengthen its balance sheet and general financial position as well accelerate 4G and 5G mobile rollouts in France and Italy.
