2013-05-13 04:43:00| Telecompaper Headlines
(Telecompaper) Samsung Electronics has developed a 5G core technology. The new technology will offer data speeds several hundred times faster than 4G, according to the company. Samsung tested the adaptive array transceiver technology using the 28 GHz band and transmitted data at 1 Gbps. The technology, using 64 antenna elements, can help overcome the radio propagation loss at millimeter-wave bands, which are much higher than the conventional frequency bands ranging from several hundred MHz to several GHz. The company plans to accelerate development of the technology in order to make it available to customers by 2020.
