Global Semiconductor Sales Decrease Slightly in August

Oct. 5, 2015- The Semiconductor Industry Association , representing U.S. leadership in semiconductor manufacturing, design, and research, today announced worldwide sales of semiconductors reached $27.7 billion for the month of August 2015, a decrease of 0.5 percent from the previous month when sales were $27.9 billion. Global sales from August 2015 were 3.0 percent lower than the August 2014 total of $28.6 billion.

NEMA Industrial Controls Indexes decrease in second quarter.

NEMA’s Primary Industrial Controls index showed 2.5% decrease in second quarter of 2015 compared to previous quarter. Index was down 2.4% compared to same period 1 year ago. A broader measure of shipments, NEMA’s Primary Industrial Controls and Adjustable Speed Drives Index, posted 1% percent decrease in second quarter compared to first. By contrast, index saw a 4% year-over-year increase.
