Space Applications Services is a growing company looking for a Senior Software Engineer with team management experience to lead a team of max 3 Software Engineers in Zaventem. The team will work on various projects for the European Space Agency, National Space Agencies andor European research projects, in the space industry or related domains. Tasks and Responsibilities You will join the Software and Data Systems Group whose activities cover the complete software lifecycle user requirements, specification, architecture, detailed design, integration, verification and validation for a number of projects. You will be responsible for delivering the technical products software and software life cycle documentation agreed with external Project Managers. You will be the Project Manager with focus on technical aspects for a number of companyled software projects. You will create the planning of your team, define daily priorities, and share the workload imposed by the development of multiple software products between the Software Engineers of your team. Qualificationsand Experience You must have the following qualification to apply A university degree or equivalent min. 4 years in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar and at least 7 years of experience as Software Engineer in the industry. Excellent command of spoken and written English. Development in LinuxUnix environments. A prior experience as lead engineer in charge of a team technical management. Knowledge in one or more of the following areas Portals e.g. Liferay, application Servers e.g. Glassfish, Apache Tomcat, JBoss, web development framewoks e.g. JSF, JSP, Struts, Taperstry, Vaadin, web services SOAP, WSDL, SOA and associated libraries e.g. JAXWS, databases e.g. MySQL, Oracle, and Object Relational Mapping e.g. JPA, Hibernate. As a reinforcement for our team in the AIT Assembly, Integration, Test department we are looking for a Group Leader Mechanical AITMGSE fm In this position you take over the lead of the Group Mechanical AIT MGSE and are responsible for the technical and the personal qualification of the members in this group. You are driving the definition and the execution of the mechanical integration steps at instrument and on satellite level in our space projects. The definition and the procurement of the mechanical ground support equipment for the integration and test activities also belong to your area of responsibility. Your tasks Definition and implementation of the mechanical integration flow in our space projects under consideration of the functional requirements and the allocated cost budgets Building up and procuring the equipment required for mechanical integration and test activities with the responsibility of the allocated budget Lead of the team members of a group which is currently being built up responsibility for the technical and the personal qualification of the group Support the project and the system engineering team in all project phases in view of the mechanical AIT aspects like establishing integration flows and test definition of the system and its subassemblies Definition and procurement of the MGSE in line with the technical boundaries and the budget allocation Establishing of requirements specification for subcontracting the MGSE, following the detailed design and the technical procurement until delivery and commissioning at KayserThrede Responsibility for establishing the processes for conducting standard AIT processes documentation, reviews, planning Harmonization of respective activities with all involved disciplines like Electronics, Optical department or Manufacturing Preparation and execution of Standard AIT review like TRR, PTR and TRB, participation at project reviews Timely production of AIT documentation, contribute to the system integration Support the reporting to the customer and within the international project environment Your qualifications University degree in engineering, physics or similar Practical experience in a responsible position within a space project, in particular in phase CD Knowledge about the particularities of mechanical integration processes in the space industry and a deep experience with the planning and the execution of mechanical test at instrument andor satellite level Ability to work in a structured way, high degree of motivation and identification with the group and the respective project Ability to reach goals also under schedule pressure Excellent communication skills, ability to work in and leading of teams Good written and oral Englisch Optional skills Experience in integration and test of optical instruments for space Experience of working in the ISO 5 environment At KayserThrede you can expect a performance related salary, above average social benefits, personal freedom, a generous flexible time programme, and a varied and interesting job in an established system company in the area of space technology.
