Analogic Corp. profit falls sharply

Analogic Corp.'s profit fell sharply in the second quarter as the electronic-component maker reported lower sales in its medical-imaging and security segments. Overall, for the period that ended Jan. 31, Analogic reported profit fell by nearly half to $9.8 million, or 78 cents a share, from $19.3 million, or $1.53 a share, a year earlier.

Urban Outfitters profit falls 9.5%

Urban Outfitters Inc. said its earnings fell 9.5% as stronger sales were offset by increased expenses and weaker margins, which were mostly caused by higher markdowns during a highly promotional holiday quarter for retailers. Shares rose 2.9% to $40.64 in recent after-hours trading as per-share earnings beat expectations and Urban Outfitters Chief Executive Richard Hayne offered a sign of encouragement for the current quarter.

United Natural stock falls after profit view cut

United Natural Foods Inc. said its sales jumped a bigger-than-expected 23% in its January quarter, but the company slashed its guidance as a declining Canadian dollar offset strong consumer demand for natural and organic food. The Providence, R.I.-based company, which is Whole Food Market Inc.'s primary supplier, distributes natural, organic and specialty products across the U.S. and Canada through its 29 distribution centers.

Three new tenants signed for Overlook office building in Little Falls

A multimillion-dollar renovation of the previously struggling Overlook Corporate Center office building in Little Falls apparently is paying off, with three new tenants announced Thursday. Real estate company Colliers International said actuarial services firm Milliman Inc., wireless solutions provider Ceragon Networks Inc., and digital agency New Possibilities Group LLC have signed leases at the building.
