The plant in Sterling Heights, Michigan, which was shut on Feb. 1, will be closed until April 4, a Fiat Chrysler spokeswoman said. The plant had earlier been scheduled to return to production on March 14. In late January, company Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne said Fiat Chrysler would stop making the Chrysler 200 as well as the compact Dodge Dart made in Belvidere, Illinois.

" Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the publisher Gruppo Editoriale L'Espresso SpA have announced a merger to create "a leading player in the Italian media and publishing businesses." Fiat, which owns the Turin daily La Stampa, said Wednesday it has signed a memorandum of understanding to merge its editorial operation with L'Espresso, publisher of the Rome daily La Repubblica and L'Espresso weekly magazine.

Geneva, March 1 - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO Sergio Marchionne said Tuesday he saw "no reason for pessimism" in light of February's sales figures. "February was a decent month for sales both in Canada and the United States, as well as in Europe and Italy," Marchionne said.
