Reuters: Japan's nuclear watchdog said on Wednesday it is concerned that more storage tanks at the wrecked Fukushima nuclear plant will spring leaks, following the discovery that highly contaminated water is leaking from one of the hastily built containers. The deepening crisis at the Fukushima plant will be upgraded from a level 1 "anomaly" to a level three "serious incident" on an international scale for radiological releases, a spokesman for Japan's Nuclear Regulation Authority said earlier on Wednesday....

Reuters: Japan's nuclear crisis escalated to its worst level since a massive earthquake and tsunami crippled the Fukushima plant more than two years ago, with the country's nuclear watchdog saying it feared more storage tanks were leaking contaminated water. UK Newspaper's Hard Drives Next to Suffer Over NSA Leaks

London editor Alan Rusbridger wrote a column Monday detailing how British law enforcement had destroyed hard drives at his newspaper's offices. The destruction was purportedly to prevent additional leaks about the National Security Agency. Prior to destroying the hard drives, Rusbridger writes, an official told him, "You've had your debate. There's no need to write any more."

US and Germany enter no-spying agreement in wake of NSA leaks

The U.S. has verbally committed to enter into a no-spying agreement with Germany in the wake of disclosures about the U.S. National Security Agency's secret surveillance programs. The verbal commitment was given in talks with the German Federal Intelligence Service (Bundesnachrichtendienst, BND), the sole foreign intelligence service of Germany, the German government said in a news release on Wednesday. This means that there must be no governmental or industrial espionage between the two countries, it said.
