We are currently looking for a Hyperspectral IR Level 2 Software Specialist to support our customer in Germany. Hyperspectral IR Level 2 Software Specialist Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. In this role you will contribute to the continued improvement of current operational and prototype products. Specifically, your responsibilities will cover Release and validation of new versions of the MTGIRS L2 prototype Integration and verification of software deliveries for the prototype processor Software anomaly fixing and code optimisation Development and documentation of prototype software and test procedures Generation of test data Statistical analysis and visualisation of hyperspectral infrared Level 2 products Support the transfer and exchange of the expertise developed with IRS L2 to the other hyperspectral infrared missions IASI and IASING Retrieval algorithm specification, validation and tuning Prototype L2 monitoring facilities. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as computer science, mathematics, physics, astrophysics, meteorology or remote sensing Several years experience in the field of scientific computing Experience and skills in Atmospheric remote sensing Numerical algorithms Development and testing of complex scientific software Handling and processing of big amounts of data Object oriented techniques for scientific computing Software tools for revision control Very good skills in a high level programming language, preferably C Data analysis and visualisation with tools like Perl Data Language PDL, Matlab, IDL or equivalent preferably with satellite data Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
