Duke Realty promotes Sheehan and Manning

Duke Realty Corp., one of the Triangle's largest owners and developers of office and warehouse properties, has promoted its two key people in its Raleigh office with each taking on more leadership responsibility within the company. Jeff Sheehan has been promoted to senior vice president of the mid-Atlantic region, making him responsible now also for Duke Realty's operations in Washington, D.C.; and Baltimore, in addition to Raleigh.

Duke will not bill customers for taxes

The News & Observer of Raleigh reported that the Charlotte utility will not charge customers $19 million a year between Duke Energy Carolinas and Duke Energy Progress. Company spokeswoman Lisa Parrish has said Duke Energy customers would have paid an extra 17 cents a month and Duke Progress customers would have paid an extra 9 cents a month if the utility followed a procedure authorized by the North Carolina Utilities commission.

Large Duke Energy solar project starts construction

Mooresville's SunEnergy1 has started construction on the first of what will eventually be three large solar farms Duke Energy Renewables is developing for three Washington, D.C.-area institutions. The unregulated subsidiary of Charlotte-based Duke Energy Corp. will own and operate the farms, selling the power to the institutions.
