FAA Re-Evaluates Method for measuring effects of aircraft noise.

FAA plans to begin work on next step in updating scientific evidence on relationship between aircraft noise exposure and its effects on communities around airports. Starting within next 2–3 months, FAA will contact residents around select U.S. airports through mail and telephone to survey public perceptions of aviation noise throughout course of any given year. Study will poll communities surrounding 20 airports nationwide, and FAA hopes to finish gathering data by 2016's end.
