Dov Charney's colorful and controversial rise at American Apparel ended in Southern California last week, when the clothing maker and retailer cut ties for good with its estranged and eccentric founder. It was a journey some 25 years in the making that took Charney from eastern Canada to the fading South Carolina textile belt to the bright lights of L.A. The ride included a stop in Charleston that he'd probably rather forget.

Will weather in South American support soybean prices?

Growth in supply has clearly outpaced growth in demand. It's going to take a little bit of time, but eventually I suspect the wrinkles get ironed out and prices start to stabilize (I just don't think we are there yet). Producers should remain patient, keeping all soybean hedges in place, and use any extended "geopolitical" or "weather" related rallies to reduce additional long-term risk.
