Spanish govt inks deal with operators to guarantee connectivity

(Telecompaper) Spain's Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation Nadia Calvino has signed an agreement with the country's main telecommunications operators aimed at guaranteeing the quality of networks during the coronavirus lockdown. The government has already ordered all operators to suspend fixed and mobile number portability processes during the "State of Alarm" announced by Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on 14 March and has now agreed a series of measures to ensure digital services run smoothly during the disruption caused by the pandemic.

Spanish operators issue joint call for 'rational and responsible' use of networks during coronavirus lockdown

(Telecompaper) Spain's network operators have together issued an unprecedented call for a "rational and responsible" use of telecommunication services to ensure they can continue to provide connectivity for remote working and schooling needs during the country's 15-day lockdown to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced a "State of Alarm" on 14 March, confirming that the country will go into lockdown for 15 days from 16 March, placing severe restrictions on travel and requiring companies to make it possible for people to continue working from home wherever possible.

This latest report from Telecompaper's continued research into developments in the Dutch communication services market looks at the leading Dutch mobile network operators: KPN, Vodafone, T-Mobile/Tele2 and the MVNO market. It analyses fourth quarter 2019 results, both revenue and subscriber base, and compares the findings with results in the previous quarters and year. The report provides splits at different levels, from postpaid to prepaid but also from a network operator to retail point of view. Additionally it also includes a five-year forecast (both network operator service revenue and mobile SIMs) for the Dutch market.
