The RTC is reminding drivers about the planned, temporary closure of the intersection of Mayberry Drive and Hunter Lake Drive. The intersection will close to all traffic beginning the morning of Friday, April 17 at about 7 a.m. The intersection will re-open early the morning of Monday, April 20. The closure is necessary in order to replace components of the traffic signal at this location and make improvements.

United States Steel Corp said it would consolidate its North American flat-rolled operations and temporarily idle its operations at Granite City, Illinois. The company is issuing notices to 2,080 workers at Granite City Works under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act as part of the consolidation.

614 to be laid off temporarily at U.S. Steel plant in Ohio

"This action is a result of a decline in tubular market conditions, which is impacting demand for the plant's products," according to a WARN Notice filed Jan. 5 by U.S. Steel. The layoffs were to begin this week and continue through May. About 614 employees at facility will be temporarily laid off, according to a report in The Morning Journal newspaper.
