Dane County, Wis., Capitalizes on Construction and Demolition Waste

The county has turned a once-problematic stream into a profitable stream via a public-private partnership with Landfill Reduction and Recycling, Inc.

The city will pay Oneida Seven Generations $2.5 million.

The switch would cost the city about $6 million between 2018 and 2027 to replace the existing trucks.

The county is taking a long look before spending the approved $18 million for the gas cleanup technology and pipeline injection equipment.

So far, the city has received items such as waxy paper, potting soil, wine corks and plastic bags mixed in with organic waste.
