MONTPELIER >> The Federal Trade Commission won't open a formal investigation into Green Mountain Power's marketing of renewable energy, but is cautioning Vermont's largest power company to be clear in its communications with the public. The Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic at Vermont Law School had complained to the federal agency in September that GMP was making claims in Vermont about power coming from renewable sources, when credits for reducing carbon pollution are being sold out-of-state.

Released by President Obama, Fiscal Year 2016 Budget of U.S. Government includes funding to expand National Network of Manufacturing Innovation (NNMI) as well as 5.5% increase from 2015 of $146 billion for R&D initiatives. In his statement on behalf of IPC, John Mitchell applauded Obama "for his commitment to grow advanced manufacturing and increase federal R&D investment." Mitchell also noted both aspects as "critical" to IPC’s Global Policy Framework for 2015.
