Claro launches first LTE network in Chile

(Telecompaper) Claro has commercially launched 4G services in Chile. Claro thus becomes the first operator in Chile to offer LTE services. Claro has been carrying out a 4G network trial with selected customers in various areas of the Santiago capital since March this year. Claro's LTE service currently covers the Santiago capital and parts of the city of Vina del Mar, but will gradually be expanded across the country. Nokia Siemens Networks is the sole supplier of the radio and core network and services for the LTE network.
