AM/NS Calvert LLC - which is a combined subset of ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp. - will invest $88 million in its north Mobile County facility in an effort to increase its presence in the automotive industry, according to a report from AL.com.

The new facility is targeted to be on-stream in the summer of 2016 with the capacity to produce ten tons per day of liquid hydrogen for use in a wide range of customer applications, including electrical power generation; the production of metals, glass, chemicals, and food products; and emerging applications for hydrogen-powered fuel cells.
