RHEA is currently recruiting two Satellite Platform Operations Engineers to support the platform routine operations of the inorbit MSG satellites, as well as the operations preparation for the platform subsystems of MSG4 and the Operations Preparations of the MTG satellites. Please note that position is based at our clients premises in Darmstadt, Germany. Tasks and Activities Your primary tasks and activities may include Familiarisation with the MSG satellite design and operations procedures as necessary Supporting conduct of routine operations of the inorbit MSG spacecrafts and to the commissioning of MSG4 Provisioning Satellite Operations Engineer SOE oncall service Performing evaluation and trend analysis to monitor the inflight behaviour of the spacecraft, including support to yearly and specific operations reviews e.g. eclipses, reconditioning, manoeuvres, decontamination, etc Contributing to the maintenance of Automated and Manual procedures Operational database Special operation instructions Other operational documentation e.g. SOE Guide, Contingency Ops Guide etc for the preparation and the execution of System Validation Tests, commissioning and inorbit satellite operations Supporting maintenance of the MSG Flight Operation Manual Supporting Satellite Simulator maintenance and provisioning of the necessary input to the simulator maintenance team Supporting satellite monitoring and controlling facility maintenance team to ensure that the facility, including the telemetry analysis tools, is always fit for its purpose Participating to the activities related to the MSG Routine Operations Support provided by the MSG satellites manufacturer Analysing and investigating operational events and anomalies particularly relating to the operations of the MSG Spacecraft and associated ground segment elements Preparing and producing routine reports as necessary Participating in the preparation and specification of system updates Preparing technical notes and attendance at technical meetings and reviews Preparing presenting Flight Ops Team training material wrt SC Operations Contributing to the MTG system operations concepts for SC operations related topics Supporting specification and reviews of the different operations related elements of the MTG system including satellites and ground segments Supporting MTG operations preparations activities, mainly at Space Segment level but including also Ground Segment aspects Supporting satellite simulator development procurement followup and maintenance and provide the necessary input to the simulator team Reviewing technical notes and attendance at technical meetings and reviews Participating to the definition and execution of the Operational System Validation activities such as SVTs, rehearsals and the necessary training activities for the various operations personnel prior to system commissioning Contributing to the definition of MTG commissioning activities Skills and Experience You must possess the following skills and experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline Experience of spacecraft operations Experience of MSG andor MTP satellites operations or geostationary satellite operations in general Experience of Routine Spacecraft Operations in general Experience of Operations preparation of a satellite project Knowledge of Operations andor design of Electrical Power Subsystems or of Attitude and Orbit Control subsystem Ability to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner Ability to demonstrate analytical approach and attention to detail Ability to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with the minimum of supervision Ability to work effectively in English How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level?
