Nielsen to add Facebook to Social Content Ratings

(Telecompaper) Nielsen announced that it is expanding Nielsen Twitter TV Ratings to include programme-related conversations on Facebook. The ratings will become Nielsen's Social Content Ratings, described as the first solution to measure aggregate-level programme-related conversations, including posts shared with friends and family, with followers, and publicity. The expanded ratings are due to launch in the first half of the year, and will be available in the markets where Nielsen Twitter TV Ratings are currently available, namely the US, Mexico, Australia and Italy. The company plans to integrate Instagram at a later date.
