Reliance Jio to acquire RCom towers, fibre network, spectrum

(Telecompaper) Reliance Jio Infocomm announced it has signed a definitive agreement with Reliance Communications (RCom) for the acquisition of RCom's wireless assets. Jio has agreed to acquire towers, the fibre-optic cable network, spectrum and media convergence nodes from RCom and its affiliates. The assets are are expected to contribute significantly to the large-scale roll-out of wireless, FTTH and enterprise services by Reliance Jio Infocomm," the company said.

RCom agrees asset sales to cut debt by 85%

(Telecompaper) Indian operator Reliance Communications (RCom) has announced an agreement with lenders to restructure its debt and exit protection from creditors, without any loan write-offs. Upon completion of all the proposed transactions, RCom's debt is expected to drop to INR 60 billion, which represents a reduction of over 85 percent.
