As part of its IT development activities in the space domain, the FMO department Flight Mission Operations, within CS Space Business Unit, wishes to reinforce its teams and is looking for an experienced DevOps Architect MF to participate to satellite control centers development projects. The activities to be carried out initially are within a project which defines and implement an SDE Software Development Environment for a satellite test bench that is built on top of the EGSCC, the future product line for satellite control centers developed by ESA European Space Agency. You will be in charge of Installing and configuring external tools Git, Jenkins, Nexus, etc. Developing tools scripts to ensure complementary functions which implement the test bench SDE specific requirements not satisfied by external tools Documenting the overall lifecycle process Validating the proper functioning of the overall system. Being a trained engineer or having an MS degree, you have a significant experience at least 5 years in using and setting up complex development environments that integrate all tools covering the development life cycle Eclipse framework, compiling, version management, continuous integration, issues management, collaborative environment, requirements management, documentation management. You have a good proficiency on the following technologies DevOps, development lifecycle tools, Maven, Git, Jenkins, Nexus and Eclipse. Good proficiency would be appreciated on Confluence, Jira, Doors, SonarQube, as well as of the space domain and software architectures of satellite control centers. Thermal Analyst Architect

Primary Purpose of Role In the frame of Thales Alenia Space TAS deployment in UK In the frame of the development of payload modules for new space missions, the Thermal Architect will lead the Thermal Engineering aspects of a multidisciplinary team. The Thermal Architect will support and lead in the thermal analysis and verification activities. Heshe will be in charge of the Thermal architecture tradeoffs covering all engineering aspects in conjunction with dedicated engineering specialists. WPM for Thermal Technical activities, compiling and approving estimates Phase CD activities will include qualification test planning, set up, execution and results assessment. HeShe will contribute to the Satellite phase BCD technical proposal. Principal Relationships Relationships will be required to be built and maintained with the following principals Payload Systems Engineer TAS UK Project Manager and design team External partners ESA, UKSA, TASF, TASI Other industrial team members Payload providers Key Responsibilities and tasks Lead Thermal design activities for payload module in cooperation with other TAS entities. Lead the Thermal design, establish the test planqualification sequence for the mechanical aspects. Define the interfaces, in direct relation with the Payload System Engineer and other subsystems Avionics, Thermal System Identify the key drivers for the product competitiveness related to Thermal aspects. Develop TAS UK skill in Thermal Engineer area. Key Performance Indicators KPIs for the role will be specifically developed with the role holder however these will cover Ontime execution of Payload Thermal Engineering deliveries Ontime execution of project phase CD technical proposal in relation to the Payload Thermal Engineering activities Data package delivery for project milestones all milestone deliveries being met internally and for the customer Timing execution of all activities in relation with MAIT sequence and qualification completion Experience and Skills Design of Thermal systems and subsystems, including control methods and hardware Experience with producing relevant documents and presenting at reviews. Experience with Thermal hardware, such as temperature sensors, radiators MLI. Experience planning, conducting and reviewing Thermal testing activities. Thermal analysis using relevant codes ie, ESATAN.. Understanding Thermal modelling requirements Setting up, running and assessing transient and steadystate models. Interpreting and reporting results. Performing model checks and reductions. Supervision of thermal analysis using ESATANESARAD or other equivalent code Production of GMMs and generation of orbital heat loads and surface view factors Production of TMMs and runningassessing static and transient cases Experience with planning, executing and evaluating environmental tests, including thermalvacuum and vibration Experience with validation of highstability optomechanical structures would be of benefit Experience of working in a multidiscipline team environment Experience of working closely with Customer, partners, suppliers Experience in technical proposal preparation would be an asset Experience in Space domain Education Qualifications Engineering degree Personality Behaviors Values Displays energy, drive, agility and resilience in achieving workrelated goals under difficult circumstances. Verification and testing Industrialisation, delivery and postdelivery support. To coach and train lessexperienced staff members in Mechanism design and development. To lead and develop the Mechanism Architecture capability in TASUK. Perform or oversee the calculations needed for sizing and verification of Mechanisms and components, including hand calculations, FEA, Thermal Analysis, Rigid Body Analysis as required. Assess new suppliers, materials, components, data, software and methods for spacecraft Mechanisms. Generate the documents and review materials needed to support projects and reviews. Manage the communications, inputs and outputs needed for the technical team, including documents, meetings and reviews. Budgets and forecasts maintenance. Risk register maintenance. Generate technical specifications and interface requirements ie, for motors, gearboxes, bearings. Development planning, and management of development activities needed to validate a product and its performance at all stages, including analysis and testing at mechanism and part level. Manage subcontractors, including inputs to the procurement and selection process and the support of reviews of suppliers developments and deliveries. Manage customers, manage inputs to customer reviews. Develop and manage the TASUK internal procedures and documentation related to Mechanism Development.Also manage the skills acquisition and training for younger members of the team. Key Performance Indicators KPIs for the role will be specifically developed with the role holder however these will cover Delivery of designs and associated documentation within the constraints of Project schedules. Robust Mechanism Designs which meet project requirements with minimal need for iteration or rework at late stages. Robust methods for Mechanism design and development incorporated into TASUK work practices. Quality of documentation. Experience and Skills An experienced, knowledgeable engineer who offers deep technical knowledge of Space Mechanisms and a strong track record of Mechanisms development, including a knowledge of best practice. The following is necessary for the role Experience as an Architect for space Mechanism project. Knowledge of the space environment and how it impacts on Mechanism design. Experience of performing sizing calculations including motorization margins, bearing size, bearing preload, launchlock devices, lifetime, material and joint safety margins. Knowledge of ECSSEST3301C Experienceknowledge of typicallyused parts and materials including actuators, bearings, lubricants, flexible couplings harnesses and hoses, thermal protection, position sensors, launch lock devices, metals, composites, coatings as well as the industry suppliers for these. Experienceknowledge of manufacturing techniques for prototyping and also production conventional and advanced and how these affect the design. The following would be an asset Direct experience of performing rigid body analysis or FEA on space Mechanisms using MSC software. Direct experience of Mechanical design using Catia. Work Package or Project Management. Experience of bidding for Mechanism development work, to industry and Space Agencies. Education Qualifications The following is necessary for the role Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University with a minimum 21 or equivalent. The following would be an asset Participation in the ESTL Space Tribology course, or an equivalent. A Masters or higher degree. Membership of a professional Institution.
