A vacancy has arisen for a skilled System Architect to join the Intelligence group at Airbus Defence and Space, to be based at either Newport, Newcastle or Guildford. You will have the ability to design and develop new and innovative system required by geospatial projects and cloudbased solutions using inhouse or cloud infrastructure such Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud. This role involves participating and contributing to the organizations products and services portfolio design and development, which is essential for Airbus digital services and transformation. UK and European travel will be required. You main tasks and responsibilities will include Develop, analyse and trace stakeholder and system requirements Allocate requirements as necessary Augment architectural principles e.g. selection of methodologies, tools etc. Design and model operational concepts and analyse results of simulation Design and model functional and physical system architecture including interfaces and analyse results of simulation Evaluate feasibility of a technical solution with the Chief engineer or members of the team Report progress, cost and schedule of activities that are under your own responsibility Assess risk and opportunities and continuously contribute to the project risk register Support strategy for integration, verificationvalidation and transition to use Contribute to design and development of logistic support solutionservice management Lead the technical architecture, integration and potential deployment of solutions and the related IT infrastructure Ensure solution and operations reliability in liaison with service management team Ability to understand the big picture and work closely with cloud architects, service managers and project manager as a team We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience University Degree Masters degree would be desirable in Information Technology or equivalent Modelbased systems engineering experience MBSE from concept through to detailed design with knowledge and experience of common architecture frameworks TOGAF, NAF, Experience and knowledge of IT security a good understanding of security by design Designing and planning cloud solution architecture preferably in geospatial and GIS domain Knowledge of integration frameworks, applications server and messaging systems Experience in Service oriented SOA and microservice architecture Knowledge of Enterprise application integration and associated concepts The ideal candidate should also serve as a Subject Matter Expert regarding a Systems Engineering approach and ultimately build strong Systems Architecture expertise within AIRBUS UK.
