US apparel imports have continued to decline significantly in November, however falling less dramatically than in October. Imports from China are now rapidly dropping, with a few countries increasingly benefiting from this radical change in US apparel sourcing. Our monthly review covers US apparel import data over a monthly basis, with shipments per origin in volume and value terms in the latest month under review and year-to-date. Historical trends are analyzed over the 2000-2019 period, including cotton vs. man-made fiber apparel, and China vs. Vietnam and the Rest of the World (RoW).

Imports from Bangladesh have also substantially dropped after unit prices have risen over higher production costs this year. Our report covers monthly EU clothing import data, with historical trends being analyzed, and a specific focus on China vs. Rest of World (RoW) and Bangladesh, and on knit vs. woven clothing. China has issued an order that all foreign-made computer equipment and software be removed from government offices and public institutions within the next three years.
