Orange accelerates sales, EBITDA growth in Q2

(Telecompaper) Orange reported an acceleration in growth in the second quarter, driven by strong growth in Spain, a recovery in Africa and the Middle East and the first sales growth in France since 2009. Revenue rose 1.4 percent to EUR 10.206 billion, compared to growth of 0.8 percent in Q1. On a comparable basis, sales were up 0.5 percent in France, 8.8 percent in Spain and 2.7 percent in Africa and the Middle East. Only Poland and the enterprise division posted lower revenue in the quarter.
Telefonica ups FY sales growth forecast after improved results in Q2

(Telecompaper) Telefonica said it now expects modest growth in revenues over the full year, after improving trends in the second quarter. Quarterly revenues rose 1.9 percent year-on-year to EUR 12.960 billion, with organic growth improving to 3.1 percent from 1.5 percent in Q1. All its main markets - Spain, Germany, Brazil showed an improved performance in the quarter. Across the group, both service revenue (+2.9% y-o-y organic) and handset sales (+5.2%) accelerated compared to the previous quarter.
Nokia sales up 1% in Q2 thanks to licensing growth

(Telecompaper) Nokia reported second-quarter sales up 1 percent year-on-year to EUR 5.619 billion, as growth in its licensing business offset a weaker market for network equipment. The adjusted operating margin jumped to 10.2 percent from 5.9 percent a year ago, and the net loss narrowed to EUR 423 million from EUR 667 million.
