Fiat Chrysler Automobiles said its North American labor chief Al Iacobelli has retired less than two months before company negotiations with the United Auto Workers union. Iacobelli, 55, will be replaced by Glenn Shagena, 52, FCA's former head of human resources in Mexico, effective immediately, the company said on Tuesday.

Agence France-Presse: Scientists issued a dire warning Tuesday to UN climate negotiators in Bonn of a vicious global warming cycle that will be unlocked with the thawing of carbon-bearing permafrost. There may be 1,500 billion tonnes of carbon locked away in permafrost -- perennially frozen ground covering about a quarter of exposed land in the Northern Hemisphere -- said Susan Natali, a researcher with the Woods Hole Research Center in Massachusetts. Shares in Guinness maker Diageo jump on billionaire Lemann takeover talks

Brazilian billionaire Jorge Paulo Lemann and his partners in private equity firm 3G Capital are considering a potential bid for Diageo PLC, the world's largest producer of spirits, the Brazilian newsweekly Veja reported . Lemann, who is Brazil's richest man, and partners Marcel Telles and Beto Sicupira, are in the initial stages of studying a buyout offer for Diageo, Veja reported in its Radar column, without saying how it obtained the information.
