Android L 64-bit preview finally released but only for x86. Wheres ARMv8, Google?

After announcing that Android L would support 64-bit hardware way back in June, Google has finally released a 64-bit Android L developer preview emulator image. Curiously, though, it's a 64-bit image for 64-bit Intel chips (Atom/Bay Trail) and not ARM. With Nvidia's 64-bit Tegra K1 supposedly just around the corner, but no tools for developers to actually create or prepare 64-bit ARMv8 apps, what exactly is going on?

IBM unveils new Power8 servers in last-gasp effort to battle Intels x86 dominion

Just two days after jettisoning its last Intel/x86-oriented division to Lenovo, IBM has unveiled the first servers based on the new Power8 CPU architecture. Somewhat unusually, IBM's press release directly attacks both Intel's "closed and proprietary" way of doing business and its products (IBM says Power8-based systems are nearly 20% better on price-performance than x86-based systems). Is IBM all bark and no bite? Or does the Power8 architecture and and OpenPower Foundation (which now has 59 members) actually stand a chance against Intel's server monopoly? Lenovo, IBM x86 server strategy gets clarity as acquisition looms

With Lenovo expected to close its IBM x86 server business acquisition by year end, a glimpse at the combined server product line has emerged. Once the deal closes, IBM's System X and Flex servers with x86 chips will fill out Lenovo's high-end product line. Meanwhile, Lenovo's ThinkServer products will be targeted at small and medium-size businesses, according to an IBM presentation.
