Ground Station System Engineer You will be based initially for 2 years at our clients headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Extension of a further 2 years may be possible. Your Tasks Include The consultant shall support the activities of ground segment developments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications. In doing this, the consultant shall support Engineering activities of Phase B of future ground segments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications mainly for supporting EPSSG and JasonCS activities The follow up of the detailed design and development activities of Phase CD of the future ground segments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications The maintenance and evolution in phase E to the other Client programmes MSG, EPS, Jason, ,.. in the areas of Telecommunications, RF and Ground Stations, The consultant will be a member of a multidisciplinary system engineering team and will report directly to the SEP Ground Stations Engineering Team Leader. However when working in a given programme, the consultant shall report also within the established programme structure. In the performance of these tasks, the consultant shall apply the relevant organizational and programmatic quality management procedures as well as the relevant ground stations system engineering standards. Your Profile The Consultant shall have a university degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to the job profile together with the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks. Heshe shall have, as a prerequisite, a demonstrated experience in a similar function for at least 5 years. This experience shall include in particular Ground stations system and subsystem design and development for TTC Ground stations system and subsystem design and development for mission specific andor satellite communications ground stations TTC baseband equipment and SLE compliant implementations Technical background in the specification and VV of ground stations and large antennas and tracking systems for LEO and GEO satellites ACU and receivers inclusive Knowledge of modulationdemodulation schemes applied by Ground to Space ICD for TTC and payload data transmission e.g. ECSS and CCSDS Standards. In addition, the knowledge and experience of the following processesareas is considered as an asset Competence and experience in the engineering processes for managing requirements from the definition phase through the traceability, verification, validation and maintenance stages using formal methods and tools e.g. DOORs Design and requirements engineering of large and complex Earth Observation related ground stations Usage of High Data Rate Demodulators System experience with Link budget analysis and tools in S, X and Ka Band. Standard RF and microwave tools and SW package for generation of signal processing related simulations andor semiautomated measurement procedures. The Consultant shall be in possession of sound organizational and interpersonal skills to conduct the responsibilities described above autonomously and with a minimum level of supervision, exhibiting good oral and written communications skills, analytical capabilities, and motivation.
