Amid declining revenues at its flagship brand, J.Crew Group is adding a new, lower-priced division of retail stores to be called J. Crew Mercantile in a move that echoes other retailers' efforts to appeal to consumers looking for bargains. The first store is set to open in late July at The Shops at Park Lane in Dallas, with more stores planned for 2015 and 2016, although the precise number was not disclosed when the news was announced Friday.

Nordstrom Rack plans to open its second Hawaii store at the Waikiki Trade Center in the spring of 2016, the owner of the center said Monday. The new 34,000-square-foot, two-level store will be located at the street level, according to San Francisco-based Coastwood Capital Group LLC, which purchased the center in 2013.

TD Bank becomes official credit card issuer for Nordstrom

TD Bank Group has agreed to acquire upscale fashion retailer Nordstrom's existing U.S. Visa and private label consumer credit card portfolio, which currently totals approximately $2.2 billion in receivables. In addition, the two companies have reached a separate long-term agreement under which TD will become the exclusive U.S. issuer of Nordstrom-branded Visa and private label consumer credit cards to Nordstrom customers.
