Vodafone returns to service revenue growth in Q2, raises FY EBITDA forecast

(Telecompaper) Vodafone Group reported a small rise of 0.4 percent in revenues for its fiscal first half to September to EUR 21.94 billion, helped by its takeover of activities from Liberty Global from August. Adjusted EBITDA was up 2.7 percent to EUR 7.11 billion, while the net result was a loss of EUR 1.89 billion due to one-time charges in India.

However, the company cut its planned dividend for the year, to 60 cents from 70 cents last year, citing the costs of the pending merger with Sprint and spectrum auctions.

(Telecompaper) Snap reported better-than-expected results for the third quarter. The number of active daily users increased by 7 million, and revenues were up 50 percent year-on-year to USD 446 million. Adjusted EBITDA improved to a loss of USD 42 million from a loss of USD 138 million a year ago, and Snap said it expects to reach at least breakeven in Q4.

Sunrise grows service revenues, EBITDA 3% in Q2, sees higher synergies from UPC deal

(Telecompaper) Swiss operator Sunrise said that its service revenues grew by 3.1 percent in Q2 as a result of an increase in the number of subscriptions for mobile postpaid, TV and internet, and B2B revenue growth. However, total revenues fell by 1.7 percent year-on-year to CHF 455 million, due to reduced hubbing and mobile hardware sales, both carrying low profitability.

Swisscom sticks to FY guidance as Q2 revenue falls but EBITDA grows

(Telecompaper) The Swisscom group said its outlook for the full year remains unchanged as its operating results were within expectations in the first half of 2019. Second quarter group net revenue fell by 4 percent to CHF 2.80 billion from CHF 2.92 billion a year earlier but EBITDA rose to CHF 1.12 billion from CHF 1.09 billion a year earlier.
