Swisscom revenue falls 3%, EBITDA stable in first 9 months

(Telecompaper) Swisscom said that net revenues in the first nine months of 2020 fell by 3 percent year-on-year to CHF 8.2 billion, as the Covid-19 pandemic had a particularly negative impact on roaming revenues. The pandemic's overall impact on financial results is minor, however. EBITDA remained nearly stable at CHF 3.3 billion, recording a decrease of 0.1 percent. On a like-for-like basis and at constant exchange rates EBITDA increased by CHF 7 million or 0.2 percent.

Telenor raises FY forecast for growth in underlying EBITDA thanks to cost cuts

(Telecompaper) Telenor said it now expects to report a small increase in underlying EBITDA this year, after a return to growth in the third quarter. Organic subscription and traffic revenue is still expected to show a low single-digit decline as some countries in Asia, such as Thailand and Malaysia, are affected by lower revenues due to the coronavirus pandemic.

1&1 Drillisch cuts EBITDA forecast on Telefonica network prices, considers damages claim

(Telecompaper) Germany's 1&1 Drillisch said it has revised its EBITDA forecast for 2020 downwards to approximately EUR 600 million from EUR 683.5 million, due to a price increase under its MBA MVNO agreement with Telefonica. The MBA MVNO agreement is a remedy by the EU Commission relating to the merger of E-Plus with Telefonica. Prices for voice services per minute and data prices per gigabyte from July 2020 and for the following years are higher, according to Drillisch, and Telefonica is applying them without taking into account the agreement in their negotiations.

Simpel sees EBITDA growing to over EUR 30 mln in 2020

(Telecompaper) Dutch MVNO Simpel expects to grow EBITDA to over EUR 30 million this year, shareholder Jasper de Rooij said in an interview with the Financieele Dagblad. Last year the company generated EBITDA of EUR 23 million on revenues of EUR 114 million, with a staff of 23 people. Churn at the operator is less than 1 percent.
Salt sees revenues, EBITDA decline in Q2, adds 7,600 postpaid mobile customers

(Telecompaper) Swiss operator Salt said total revenues declined by 3.8 percent year-on-year in Q2 2020 to CHF 244.8 million from CHF 254.5 million in the same period the prior year. On a like-for-like basis, operating revenue excluding incoming revenue was down 4.5 percent in Q2. The Covid-19 pandemic hit roaming revenues in particular, which offset the positive underlying performance of the company's core business.
